Dr. Kenneth Leopold

Dr. Leopold is a distinguished radiation oncologist with over three decades of clinical and academic experience in cancer care. He earned his undergraduate degree from Haverford College in 1978 and his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1982. He completed his internship at The Graduate Hospital in Pennsylvania in 1983, followed by his residency at the prestigious Harvard Joint Center for Radiation Oncology in 1986, where he served as Chief Resident and Research Fellow.
Early in his career, Dr. Leopold held faculty positions at Duke University and Dartmouth College. At Duke, he was honored with the prestigious Clinical Oncology Career Development Award in recognition of his contributions to the field. In 1999, he transitioned his focus to direct patient care, joining Hartford Hospital and Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN).
A prolific researcher and author, Dr. Leopold has contributed to more than 70 publications on cancer treatment and care. He has been actively involved in advancing cancer research and advocacy, having served on the Board of Directors for the New Hampshire division of the American Cancer Society and on the Respiratory Core of the CALGB (Cancer and Leukemia Group B) research group.
Currently, Dr. Leopold serves as Medical Director for Community Cancer Care’s Manchester, Connecticut location and sits on the executive cancer committee for the John A. DeQuattro Cancer Center at Eastern Connecticut Cancer Institute.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Leopold enjoys spending quality time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, playing bridge and golf, and staying active at the gym.
